The name is the process. Three stages, always in the same order, and nothing starts before the one in front of it is signed off.
Pen — Positioning

We read the room you are walking into, then write the claim that wins it and the order the claims arrive in. Words on paper, no layout, no colour.

Paper — Structure

Paper

Frame lists, wireframes, word counts. Paper is cheap and honest, so it is where the two thirds that were never load-bearing get deleted.

Pixel — Craft

Pixel

Type, grid, pace, build. Craft applied to a structure that already works amplifies the argument instead of rescuing it.

Four things we hold to.

01The argument comes before the artwork.If the claim is wrong, a beautiful frame only helps it fail faster. We will spend the first week writing and show you nothing to look at.
02Deleting is design work.Sixty-one frames became twenty-two and the raise closed on the twenty-two. Every cut is a decision we can defend out loud.
03The people who design it, build it.No handoff document, no ticket queue, no drift between the file and the thing that ships. Three people can hold a whole project in their heads.
04We rehearse it in the room.A deck is a performance, not a document. We sit through the run-through and fix what breaks when a person says it aloud.
